T-Slam - Israel's premier rock band

In January 1981, a new sensation rocked the Israeli music scene.

A new rock band, T-SLAM, released their debut album. Titled after their huge hit single, the album "Loud Radio" soon reached double-platinum status. Following this success with a ground-breaking tour, T-SLAM became the biggest Israeli rock group ever.

T-Slam's story began three years earlier, when Yair Nitzani * (Keyboards, Lyrics) and Izhar Ashdot (Guitar, Music) met while serving in the army radio station as engineer and music programmer respectively.

They soon started writing together and ended up writing and producing the first single of a new artist - Danny Bassan (Lead vocal). Following the single's success, they decided to form a group together, adding Yoshi Sadeh (Guitar,Keyboards and Vocals) to their lineup.

They recorded their first album, produced by Ashdot & Nitzani, in Tel Aviv, and mixed it in Los Angeles. Before embarking on their first tour, T-Slam was joined by Tsoof Philosof (Bass) and Sammy Avzardel (Drums), and the rest is Israeli rock history.

T-Slam released two more albums before breaking up in 1983, after an unforgettable farewell tour.

Following the breakup, each member went his own way. Danny and Yoshi recorded solo albums, Tsoof became a top session bass player and Sammy had his own working band. Yair who joined one of Israel's biggest record company, Hed Arzi, ended up managing it, and together with Izhar who became a top record producer, were both responsible for Ofra Haza's immense 1988 European No. 1 single - Im Nin'alu.

In the Summer of 1990, after years of pleading from both the public and managers, T-Slam decided to reform for a comeback tour. The band recorded two new songs and released a compilation album, Play Now (Platinum).

The tour's success was beyond anyone's belief and T-Slam filled huge stadiums all over Israel

In March 2002, T-Slam surprised everyone by playing a surprise gig at the Barbi Club in Tel Aviv under the name of the Goldfingers.

The evening's tremendous success together with the demand for further concerts and the great fun the guys had playing together, urged T-Slam to start a spontaneous tour that culminated in a show January 2003 at Tel Aviv Hangar with guest Israeli artists Mooke, Monica Sex and rap superstar Subliminal. The live show was recorded and was released as a double CD and DVD named Or Shel Kohavim (Starlight).

2009 was a busy year for T-Slam. In a joint venture with Israel's biggest cellular company, the band reinvented itself as cartoon characters and in the process recorded three new songs, which were included in the definitive CD compilation The Best of the Best.

The Summer of 2009 saw T-Slam touring again with a spectacular stage show, culminating in a triumphant show at the Roman Amphitheater in Caesaria.
